AMCA International announced those AMCA Executive Committee and Board of Directors who will serve during 2013–2014 term. Dr. Geoff Sheard, VP of Fan Technology, Flaktwoods, Ltd, was elected President, while Victor C. Colwell, VP of Sales and Marketing for Loren Cook Company, was elected as Chairman of the Board. Other members include Patrick A. Cockrum (Vice President), Tim Kilgore (Treasurer), and John Knapp (Secretary). Dan Hartlein was newly elected to AMCA Board of Directors. Illinois Senate Executive Committee Passes Bill to Get the Smart Grid and Job Creation Back on Track

Today, the Illinois Senate Executive Committee passed Senate Bill 9 out of committee by a vote of 14 to 0. SB 9 clarifies existing language in the Smart Grid law enacted in 2011 to get the Smart Grid program back on track, and ensures the state's economy and consumers reap the full benefits of improved reliability, job creation and investment in the state's infrastructure, while maintaining strong consumer protections.

Boeing Company Executive Joins NIST Advisory Committee

John J. Tracy, CTO of The Boeing Company and Senior VP of Engineering, Operations and Technology, has joined NIST's Visiting Committee on Advanced Technology.
