ITU sends emergency telecom equipment to Vanuatu

(Telecompaper) The International Telecom Union (ITU) said it has deployed emergency telecommunication equipment to Vanuatu following the damage caused last week by category 5 tropical storm storm Cyclone Pam. ITU dispatched 40 satellite phones, ten Broadband Global Area Network terminals and 35 solar panels to the Island nation to support relief coordination efforts.
