(Telecompaper) Asus unveiled a series of tablets at the Computex trade show in Taipei, the most striking of which is the latest version of the Transformer Book laptop-tablet that runs both Windows 8.1 and Android OS. According to Asus, the Transformer Book V is a "five-mode, three-in-one converged laptop" that features a dual-OS laptop with a 12.5-inch that detaches to become a tablet, and a 5.5-inch smartphone that slides into the tablet, enabling it to run the Android OS. The tablet portion has an Intel Core processor, an HD display, and 128 GB of storage. When in laptop mode, the device has up to 1 TB. The smartphone portion has LTE connectivity and uses an Intel Atom quad-core processor, along with a 2500 mAh battery. Users can switch between OS by pressing the Instant Switch button on the device. In addition to the Transformer Book V, Asus also unveiled what it said is the world's slimmest 12.5 inch two-in-one laptop and tablet, the Transformer Book T300 Chi, as well as updates to its MeMO Pad range of tablets and a new palm-sized tablet-phone, the Fonepad 8.
