For our activities in ESTEC, we are currently looking for a Networking, Security and Facility Support Engineer. Tasks and Responsibilities In the context of the ISS Exploitation programme, ESA has setup the ERASMUS Support Facility ESF which includes support capabilities to operations MSO, ERA, GS operations coordination room, Public Relations interface and the security infrastructure PKI, Secured DMS, etc.. Under the supervision of the Head of the Columbus Ground Segment Maintenance and Operations Section, the service provider will be required to fulfil the following tasks Maintenance and troubleshooting of ESF capabilities, in relation with relevant external procurements organizations. The improvement of the level of service is one of the goal of this task. In the context of the MPCC ground node and Class3 payloads network based on the internet protocol, the service provider shall, in relation with the relevant industrial contractors, plan, coordinate and validate the necessary ground implementations between ground users and the onboard LAN. The service provider shall coordinate security implementations, audits and risk assessments in relation with the Security Control Board. In this capacity, the service provider shall participate to the ESA Security Control board SCB and other boards when relevant. The Key Person shall produce and update at regular intervals an ESF CIDL. HeShe shall also produce an evolution plan and relevant ECRs to adapt and ensure continuity and availability of the ESF and will conduct necessary validation tests and issue ESF validation reports. The Key Person shall be responsible for definition IP addressing schemes and IP stack configuration definitions for users of Class3 PLs ground and board and shall produce validations plans and validation reports for the Class3 PL users ground implementations. Requirements Background in ground segment engineering and AIV IT security knowledge, in particular with vulnerability and incident assessments Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Ability to work in a multicultural team but also independently and in a proactive manner Ability to work with various international and industrial actors Practical experience in IP networking, if possible with a CISCO certification The ability to multitask efficiently Familiarity with the ISS programmatic environment. From our offices in Darmstadt, Germany, we support supports and manage a growing team of multidisciplined Space professionals. The key candidate for this position will have a background in segment engineering and AIV IT security knowledge, in particular with vulnerability and incident assessments as well as practical experience in IP networking, if possible with a CISCO certification. Reporting to the Head of the Columbus Ground Segment Maintenance and Operations section, the key candidate will be responsible for Maintenance and troubleshooting of ESF capabilities, in relation with relevant external procurements organisations. To plan, coordinate and validate the necessary ground implementations between ground users and the onboard LAN Coordinate security implementations, audits and risk assessments in relation with the Security Control board SCB. To produce and update, at regular intervals, an ESF CIDL. To produce an evolution plan and relevant ECRs to adapt and ensure continuity and availability of the ESF. All applicants must be able to work effectively in English, both spoken and written. Familiarity with the ISS programmatic environment would be considered advantageous.
