ConAgra is cutting about 1,500 jobs, or approximately 30 percent of its global, office-based workforce, and moving its headquarters to Chicago from Omaha, Nebraska. The company said the job cuts exclude plant positions and do not include any impact from the planned sale of its private label operations.

ConAgra Foods Inc., coping with a slowing packaged-food industry and a failed acquisition of Ralcorp Holdings Inc., will cut about 1,500 jobs and move its headquarters to Chicago as part of a plan to boost efficiency. The eliminated jobs represent about 30 percent of the company's office workforce globally, according to a statement on Thursday from ConAgra, which is currently based in Omaha, Nebraska.

" ConAgra is cutting about 1,500 jobs, or approximately 30 percent of its global, office-based workforce, and moving its headquarters to Chicago from Omaha, Nebraska. About 700 workers will be in Chicago starting next summer, including the company's senior leadership as well as some operations for its consumer foods segment that are currently located in Omaha and Naperville, Illinois.

FABTECH 2015 brings 3D scanning to Art Institute of Chicago.

FABTECH 2015 brought 3D scanning technology to the steps of the Art Institute of Chicago. Exact Metrology used its Surphaser technology to 3D scan museum's 9 ft tall south guardian lion, sculpted by Edward L. Kemeys. During the event, attendees witnessed the scanning technology firsthand and heard from industry leaders about the process and benefits of 3D scanning and printing. With scanning portion complete, Met-L-Flo Inc. will use scan data to print 300 small-scale replicas of the lion.
