The top 10 real estate sales in the greater Dayton region totaled $72.4 million in May. That's a significant bump up from April, when the top 10 sales totaled $49.7 million. Retail investing drove the majority of the activity, as retail real estate values have continued to rise in the Dayton region in the last few years.

Publix buys Hollywood shopping center from Stiles for $39M

An affiliate of Stiles Corp. sold the new West Lake Commons shopping center in Hollywood to Publix Super Markets , which is the anchor tenant. Westlake Commons LLC, an affiliate of Fort Lauderdale-based Stiles, sold the plaza at 1700 Sheridan Street for $39 million to Real Sub, a subsidiary of Publix.

Cerritos shopping center gets $5M makeover; Nordstorm Rack, Saks Off 5th on their way

CERRITOS >> The former Best Plaza shopping center is undergoing an extensive $45 million renovation that will add more than a dozen new tenants, including Nordstrom Rack , Saks Off 5th and T.J. Maxx, when it opens later this year as Plaza 183. The shopping center and property, across the street from the Los Cerritos Center , had various vacancies and a declining appearance for several years, but was purchased more than a year ago by Centralcal Properties , which also is adding a 24 Hour Fitness, Old Navy, Off Broadway Shoes and several restaurants: Blaze Pizza, Habit Burger, Luna Grill, Jersey Mike's, Pier 76 Fish Grill and Wokcano.
