That dream is a second sugar-beet processing plant for southern Alberta, a facility which could breathe life into an industry which has seen its fair share of challenges in the last decade. The new factory would not be anything like the Lantic Inc. facility in Taber, however, which takes the regions iconic sugar beets and turns them into consumable sugar, but the hopes are the new venture will be just as profitable for local growers.
