North Carolina Medicaid claims lawsuit to face biggest hearing

A case that pits almost every Medicaid provider in North Carolina against the state government and its IT contractor will have arguably its most important hearing to date in April. The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services and the vendor it contracted with to build NCTracks, the Medicaid claims payment system, are facing a lawsuit that could incorporate 70,000 health care providers and finish with damages exceeding $100 million.

Comcast Hotspot Lawsuit Claims WiFi Expansion Piggybacks on Signals From Customer Routers

Comcast's attempt to expand WiFi hotspots around the country has been met with a class action lawsuit in San Francisco by customers who claim the cable giant is trying to use their wireless routers to let others access the Internet. According to the Courthouse News Service , the lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court by lead plaintiff Toyer Grear and it charges that Comcast gave unsuspecting customers across the country routers that would broadcast secondary signals allowing others to connect with the Internet without the customer's approval.

Lawsuit claims guardrails contain dangerous part

The Iowa Department of Transportation is keeping a close eye on guardrails in the state, especially after a lawsuit claims some of Iowa's guardrails contain a part that can make them dangerous. The DOT said the guardrails are installed to protect drivers from running off the road, but the lawsuit claims a certain part installed at the end of a guardrail can act like a spear and take off someone's limbs.
