The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently announced a settlement with Enid, Oklahoma-based Cottonwood Creek, Inc. in which the company has agreed to pay a $170,000 penalty to resolve alleged violations of the Clean Water Act related to oil pollution at the Bonanza Station in Big Horn County, Wyoming.

Oktibbeha County residents of the Josey Creek area should avoid contact with its waters after an untreated sewage discharge was reported today. The state Department of Environmental Quality issued a temporary water contact advisory Monday after a force main ruptured in the area.
