Guardian: Orange County's waste water facility is the world's biggest treatment plant, pumping 70m gallons of water a day to recharge groundwater levels. Now the state which is in the midst of a historic drought is expanding the plant. The $140m expansion will recycle 100m gallons of water a day and provide water to an additional 250,000 residents in the state. $6 billion water bond promised by governor rescue California from drought

Blue and Green: California governor Jerry Brown has called upon lawmakers to approve a $6 billion (3.5bn) bond measure to secure the states water supply, as the east coast suffers from a record drought. The $6 billion bond is far smaller than the original $11.1 billion (6.5bn) bond that was approved in 2011 by then state governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
