China Mobile revenue up, profit slightly declines in 2015

(Telecompaper) China Mobile reported operating revenue of CNY 668.3 billion for 2015, which represents an increase of 2.6 percent year-on-year. Revenue from telecommunications services totaled CNY 584.1 billion, down 1.3 percent compared to 2014. EBITDA was CNY 240 billion, down by 0.7 percent. Profit reached CNY 108.5 billion, down 0.6 percent.

Precision Drilling Corp. says North American demand for land drilling services in the first months of 2015 failed to meet "even the most pessimistic forecasts" as its customers looked for ways to reduce spending. Precision Drilling chief executive Kevin Neveu says industry activity in Canada during this year's spring breakup is 53 per cent below 2014 levels and in the United States activity is less than half the peak activity in November.

(Telecompaper) China Mobile saw its operating revenue grow by 1.8 percent year-on-year to CNY 641.4 billion in 2014. Revenue from telecommunications services declined by 1.5 percent to CNY 581.8 billion in 2014. Data business revenue reached CNY 253.1 billion, up by 22.3 percent compared to the previous year and as a percentage of revenue from telecommunications services increased to 43.5 percent.

Ericsson Profit Declines as Costs Offset Rising China Sales

Ericsson AB reported a 9.4 percent decline in third-quarter profit as it boosted spending to compete for contracts to build faster wireless networks in countries such as China. Net income fell to 2.65 billion kronor from 2.92 billion kronor a year earlier, Stockholm-based Ericsson, the world's largest maker of wireless networks, said today.
