About us Space Applications Services NVSA performs system and software engineering for the European Space Agency ESA, National Space Agencies and the aerospace industry. We are involved in international manned unmanned spacecraft programmes, earth observation, science, exploration, communications and related technology development. We have a vacancy for a person wishing to join the Product Assurance Safety Team as a Product Assurance Safety Manager MF PASMPAS201710HQ001 The successful candidate will be based in Zaventem, Brussels area. Tasks and Responsibilities Implementing and updating the Company PAS Product Assurance Safety policy, manuals and procedures in compliance with the Companys Quality Management System QMS. Reviewing customer and supplier documentation for compliance with the Company PAS policy and QMS. Establishing the PAS requirements baseline and relevant documentation for assigned projects. Preparing Safety Analyses, Flight Safety Data Packages, Maintenance Safety Assessments, and Hazard Reports in accordance with SSP 30599, SSP 51700 and SSP 50021 ISS Standards. Monitoring and controlling PCB, harness, connectors, mechanical systems and assessing the implementation of the PAS programme for designated flight hardware software projects including NCRs SPRs. Coordinating the PAS activities assigned to the various PAS engineers, including the required PA documentation such as Flight Safety Certificates, Test Reports, Analyses, Certificates of Compliance, closeout of the safety verifications identified in Hazard Reports, etc. Guiding and monitoring the application and procurement of EEE parts, materials and processes and controlling implementation of applicable requirements. Participating in progress meetings, Change Control Board meetings and project reviews at all levels. Supporting Company Risk Management activities as in the laboratory and cleanroom including the storage, the handling and the transportation of equipment. Qualifications and Experience A Masters Degree in an engineering or scientific subject. A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position. Proven experience with o The ISS environment for scientific payloads and space flight hardware development. o The ECSS standards, in particular the ECSSQ series. o The Configuration Management or the implementation of Product Assurance within a quality system certified to EN9100 is a strong asset. o Working in laboratory and cleanroom environment. Candidates will have the following skills Ability to cope with schedules and deadlines. Ability to synthesise, summarise and draw conclusions. Excellent organization and communication skills. Good working knowledge of the applicable space standards ECSS.
