Bharti Telecom sells 2.75% stake in Airtel for INR 84 bln, to fully repay debt

(Telecompaper) Bharti Telecom, the promoter company of Indian operator Bharti Airtel, has sold a 2.75 percent stake in Bharti Airtel to institutional investors through an accelerated book building process in the secondary market. The allocation was done to over 50 accounts, with the top 10 getting two-thirds of the overall allocation. The total sale proceeds of over INR 84.33 billion (approximately USD 1.15 billion) was over-subscribed multiple times with a mix of all categories of investors, long only and hedge fund investors across geographies in India, Asia, Europe and the US, Bharti Telecom said.

Indosat Ooredoo sells 3,100 telecom towers for IDR 6.4 trillion

(Telecompaper) Indosat Ooredoo has sold 3,100 telecom towers to two Indonesian companies for IDR 6.39 trillion (about USD 456 million), the Jakarta Post reported. Daya partner Telekomunikasi (Mitratel) will buy 2,100 towers while Professional Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Protelindo) will purchase the remaining 1,000.

MTN sells Cyprus unit to Monaco Telecom for EUR 260 mln

(Telecompaper) MTN Group has agreed to sell its Cyprus unit to Monaco Telecom for about EUR 260 million. MTN Cyprus is MTN's only operating business in the EU, and was acquired as part of MTN Group's acquisition of telecoms holding company Investcom in 2006. It falls outside the group's core footprint of Africa and the Middle East.

Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. says it has signed a deal to sell its Allstream business to Zayo Group Holdings Inc. for $465 million in cash. The agreement to sell Allstream follows a failed deal to sell the business to Egyptian investment group Accelero Capital for $520 million.
