Feb. 20, 2015 - Albany International today said that its German affiliate, Wurttembergische Filztuchfabrik K. Geschmay GmbH, has announced plans to discontinue manufacturing operations at its press fabric manufacturing facility in Goppingen, Germany. In a press statement, Albany International said, " This planned action is driven by the continuing consolidation of paper industry customers in Europe, and the continuous need to match the Company's paper machine clothing manufacturing capacity in Europe with the demands of our customers, so that customer sourcing is optimized.

The French facility is a sister factory to an aircraft engine part factory the two companies also run in Rochester, N.H. where Albany International is headquartered.

Navy personnel stopped at Albany International due to training materials

Deputies at Albany International Airport were summoned by a TSA officer when an individual appeared to be in the possession of an Improvised Explosive Device. The deputies were called on September 11, 2014 at about 6:32 a.m., by the TSA Bomb Appraisal Officer when an individual was in possession of what appeared to be an IED at the checkpoint.
