Cotton yarn prices have continued to significantly rise on the domestic market in India, whatever the continuous decline of cotton fiber prices. Operating rates had previously been cut, now allowing to raise yarn prices. Our weekly review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester, and 100% viscose. Cotton yarn prices could now drop further in China, where cotton fiber prices are eventually declining and demand is depressed from downward processors. Stagnating clothing sales at retail and falling apparel exports will force many spinning mills to shut down until after lunar year holidays. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang).
