Cotton prices have surprisingly fallen in the last week in New York whereas also dropping on domestic markets in China, India and Pakistan. US futures have been depressed by a decline of commodity prices and renewed pessimism over ongoing trade negotiations with China. Cotton inventories could also be larger on domestic markets than earlier expected. Our weekly cotton report covers the international futures market in New York and China, and the physical indicator "A Index". China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)

Textile fiber prices are now declining in China, and yarn price offers could rapidly follow the same downward trend. Demand is not expected to rebound in the coming period, with fiber and yarn prices therefore expected declining. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing and Shaoxing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. All data are available for download.

Chinese buyers are however still expected turning to the US crop and therefore pushing up New york futures to higher levels. Bangladesh Yarn Prices: Domestic Markets (Monthly Report)

Cotton yarn prices have stopped falling in Bangladesh, in line with the rebound of cotton prices on the international market. The surge of yarn imports is however pressuring domestic spinners with limited room for raising prices. Our monthly report covers Bangladeshi yarn prices, including cotton carded, cotton organic, melange, carded slub, cotton-polyester 60/40, cotton-polyester 40/60 and open end.
