Duke Energy Renewables has closed on its purchase of half Sumitomo Corp.'s 211-megawaatt Mesquite Creek Wind Project, which sells its power to candy maker Mars Inc. With the purchase, Duke has more than 1,920 megawatts of wind capacity operating in the United States. More than 1,200 megawatts of that is in the state of Texas.
