Overall Purpose of the Job Electronics engineer for Communications team in Space Technology and Systems. Provide technical contribution to a variety of Commsrelated projects and programmes. Provide technical advice to team members within projects or programmes. Key Accountabilities Delivery of technical solutions in support of ongoing projects, including Exomars. Provide technical leadership to project engineers Mentor junior members of the Comms Team. Challenges Understand, interpret and implement requirements and specifications. Deliver bespoke technical solutions to challenging customer requirements and timescales. Occasional travel to Europe may be required for project delivery. Person Specification Essential Education, Qualifications and Training Honours degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or related discipline. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required Knowledge and application of stateofart technology in space communications systems is essential Expertise in the design of space comms systems would be a distinct advantage. Specialist domain knowledge in RF, microwave, communications and space engineering. Knowledge of space platform system architecture. Ability to work at all technical levels from systems engineering to component level design, equipment build and test. Ability to plan and conduct test campaigns, including specifying and procuring facilities and support equipment. Good knowledge of space industry bestpractice. Ability to effectively communicate with people at all appropriate levels, both within and external to our client, including customers, suppliers and other stakeholders. Essential Personal Qualities and Behavioural Requirements Problem solving innovative. Leadership. Team worker. Effective communicator. Tenacious and Selfstarter. Desirable Criteria Prior experience of space programmes and ESA environment would be advantageous. Knowledge of ECSS standards would be beneficial Membership of relevant professional body e.g. IET
