For our customer in Darmstadt we are looking for a Products and Applications Software Engineer in the field of Remote Sensing. Our customer EUMETSAT is an independent intergovernmental organisation founded in 1986 to establish maintain and exploit European systems of operational meteorological satellites and to contribute to the operational monitoring of the climate and the detection of global climate changes. A further objective of EUMETSAT is to provide data, products and support services to the European Copernicus information services and user communities, with a focus on marine, atmosphere and climate. EUMETSAT is governed by a Council representing 30 Member States and 1 Cooperating State. Tasks The candidate will maintain and develop new SW in the following areas Instrument navigation, registration, and calibration Derivation of geophysical products from remote sensing data Application of satellite data in meteorology, oceanography, and atmospheric composition Radiative transfer theory Atmospheric chemistry and physics Meteorology and oceanography Development and maintenance of operational scientific data processing and monitoring software Calibration and validation expertise of Level 1 and Level 2 products Scientific document writing. We are looking for a software tester with experience in all phases of testing during the software development life cycle for the support of the development and maintenance of Air Traffic Control related software systems. Responsibilities Duties The Test Engineer is working in a team and is responsible for the complete testing process of a specific functionality within the development cycle of a new software release from the requirements analysis to the test development and test execution.
