International Organization for Standardization has circulated proposal for new field of activity on location requirements of urban pedestrian bridge assemblies in cities. A pedestrian bridge or "footbridge" is an elevated structure designed to facilitate safe access for pedestrians as they cross from one side of a traffic-heavy road or highway to the other. As the U.S. member body to ISO, ANSI invites all interested stakeholders to submit comments on proposal by March 25, 2016.

ANSI invites stakeholders to submit comments regarding Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran's (ISIRI) work item proposal, submitted by ISO, for new field of activity on natural bitumen. Proposal poses that standardization of natural bitumen would determine specifications and test methods of natural bitumen extracted from mines as used for different industrial purposes. Scope also notes that creating common language would facilitate world trade. Feedback is due by March 25.
