Amazon pulls out of New York City HQ2 plans

(Telecompaper) Amazon will not build its new headquarters (HQ2) in New York City after all. The company has withdrawn from its project in Long Island City, Queens, saying the idea was to build positive and collaborative relationships with state and local officials and get support over the long term. As this seems to not be the case, it will pursue the plans no longer. Amazon did say it will likely grow teams already present in the city. The company has over 5,000 employees in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Staten Island.

Teleology pulls out of 9mobile, to exit shareholding - report

(Telecompaper) Teleology Holdings has expressed its dissatisfaction over the business relationship with 9mobile Nigeria and has decided to pull out of the project, two months after it received approval to take over 9mobile's operations as the preferred bidder, ThisDay reported. It said Teleology Holdings will be seeking to exit its shareholding in local joint venture Teleology Nigeria, which will be required to change its name. This will put the USD 50 million deposit paid for the acquisition of 9mobile in jeopardy.
