(Telecompaper) General Electric (GE) will work with Qualcomm and Apple to offer connected LED light bulbs, Recode reported. The light bulbs with embedded technology could be used for 'indoor positioning", to transmit customised coupons to shoppers depending on their location in the store. GE also said it will produce a LED bulb compatible with Apple's yet-to-launch connected-device platform HomeKit. The bulb will be able to change colours in order to align with the natural rhythms of the body.
