KPN withdraws appointment of Leroy as CEO

(Telecompaper) Proximus CEO Dominique Leroy will not join KPN as planned on 01 December, the Dutch carrier announced, saying Leroy is no longer a candidate for CEO or chairman of the management board. The news comes after the announcement of an investigation by the public prosecutor of Brussels into possible insider trading by Leroy, who reportedly sold shares in Proximus after coming into contact with KPN about a new job. KPN said it does not know how long the procedure will take in Belgium. This "unclear and unpredictable" situation is not in the interest of KPN and its stakeholders, the company said, explaining the reasons behind its withdrawal of Leroy's appointment.

(Telecompaper) T-Mobile Netherlands has launched a 1 Gbps broadband service for the first residents to be connected to its FTTH network in The Hague. The Segbroek area is the first to be covered. The 1 Gbps plan is similar to what T-Mobile offers elsewhere at 750 Mbps. A triple-play package is available for the first months for EUR 32.50 and then will cost EUR 57.50.

KPN names Proximus's Dominique Leroy its new CEO

(Telecompaper) KPN has appointed Dominique Leroy the company's new CEO from 1 December. Leroy will succeed Maximo Ibarra Ibarra, who left the company on 30 September for Sky Italia, where he started working as CEO on 1 October. Leroy will join KPN from Belgium's Proximus (formerly Belgacom), where she has been CEO since 2014. Before that, Leroy served 24 years at Unilever.
