For one of our main customers, EUMETSAT, we are currently looking for an Image Quality Assessment Engineering consultancy support. The candidate shall offer consultancy support to the technical and scientific activities conducted by the Image Navigation, Registration and Calibration INRC Competence Area of the Remote Sensing and Products Division RSP within the Technical and Scientific Support Department. The main activities for the INRC Competence Area are related to image navigationgeolocation, rectification, onboard, vicarious and crosscalibration. The Key person shall work as a member of the Image Quality Assessment Team of INRC supporting the mediumterm and longterm monitoring, operation and further development of Level 1 data processing systems. The Key person shall support the quality assessment and validation of the Level 1 image products for current and future GEO missions but will also provide support to current and future LEO missions in this area. Moreover, heshe shall support the development and maintenance of monitoring software for Level 1 image quality assessment as well as support the software maintenance of the operational MSG Level 1 data processing systems. This includes a significant contribution to and active participation in verification and validation test activities. In addition, the Key person may also support the development activities for the MTG and EPS SG missions. The activity is assumed, as a baseline, to require the fulltime participation of a Key person for the duration of the contract. Tasks and Responsibilities The tasks of the Key person will typically include Monitoring the mediumterm to longterm performance of Level 1 data processing systems, including the performance of their algorithms, and monitoring the quality of the generated Level 1 image products Developing and maintaining image quality assessment software, including the specification, verification and validation testing of software developments Supporting the further development of the Level 1 data processing systems, including the specification, verification and validation testing of system updates and related Level 1 products Supporting the investigation and correction of anomalies related to the performance of the MSGMTP Level 1 data processing systems Supporting the preparations for future GEO and LEO missions in the area of image quality assessment Attendance at technical meetings Participation in formal reviews. The tasks of the Key person will be carried out mainly at EUMETSAT facilities in Darmstadt, but travel within Europe may be required for certain activities. Experience and education In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Key person shall have Good theoretical knowledge of satellite imagery data processing algorithms for navigation, registration and calibration and the techniques used for assessing the geometric and radiometric quality of Level 1 image products A minimum of 3 years experience in the processing and analysis of data from imaging andor sounding instruments on remote sensing spacecraft Significant experience of validating remote sensing products and complex remote sensing data processing systems. The Key person shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with the minimum of supervision. Fluency in English is mandatory and a working knowledge of French would be an advantage, together with good communication skills. In addition, the Key person shall have practical, demonstrable experience inwith Software engineering, in particular in algorithm software development, in a Unix environment using CC, and ideally also Python and MatlabIDL Implementation of scientific algorithms from a given specification. A Spanish leader company in Aerospace Engineering and Scientific services with more than 45 years of experience working for NASA and 35 years working for ESA seeks a candidate for a Computer and System engineer. This work package is intended to provide a number of specialised services to support ESA in Computer System Engineering at ESAC for the missions science operations centres. The SREO Computer Support Group CSG is providing computer support to all science operations centres and science ground segments located at ESAC, either in development or in operational phase. Under this work package, service shall be provided to support ESA in system administration activities for those computer systems used for science operations and research activities. These computers are general servers or workstations mainly based on Linux and Oracle Solaris, Macintoshes, Technical PCs and for Office Automation activities. The environment also includes Disk Storage infrastructure, Virtual infrastructure as well as GRID and Cloud computing infrastructures. Systems can be physical machines or provided through virtual infrastructure. These systems are connected to networks organized by functions operational, office and development, external services, GRID, Cloud and administration networks. Specific tasks would include installation, configuration, deployment, integration, monitoring, administration and maintenance of these computer systems, scientific and commercial software installation and administration, data backup and retrieval, interface with IT vendors for quotation, installation and maintenance agreements, users IT support, defining and operating computers operational procedures, hardware inventory tracking.
