Worthington Industries is laying off more than 550 employees, including 80 in Bremen, as it deals with the effects of low oil and steel prices. The Columbus-based metals manufacturer said today it is closing a plant in Florence, S.C, that makes vehicle cabs, leading to the loss of 310 jobs.

The Columbus steel processor said Tuesday that 245 employees in its oil and gas division will be part of the reduction, and 310 employees in its Florence, South Carolina, engineered cabs facility will lose their jobs as part of that plant's closure.
