Post SmallSat Technology Coordinator This post is classified A2A4 on the Coordinated Organisations salary scale. Location ECSAT, Harwell, United Kingdom Description SmallSat Technology Coordinator in the Space Segment Section, Technologies and Products Division, Telecommunications Technologies, Products and Systems Department, Directorate of Telecommunications and Integrated Applications. The postholder will report to the Head of the Space Segment Section and will be responsible for the coordination of ARTES CC technology and product activities related to small i.e. pico, nano and micro satellites SmallSat. Duties coordinating the definition, elaboration and maintenance of development roadmaps for technologies and products for SmallSat applications in collaboration with other ESA organisational units as appropriate and contributing to related discussions with manufacturers, system operators and service providers. coordinating the specialised engineering support provided by the Technology and Products Division and other ESA organisational units, in particular the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality Management, for ARTES SmallSat activities. coordinating within the Department as appropriate to ensure that ESAinitiated technology developments targeting SmallSat applications are consistent with the technology development roadmaps. support the ARTES AT Coordinator in the evaluation of SmallSat ideas submitted as candidates for inclusion in the annual ARTES AT work plan and the provision of feedback to the idea proponents, in collaboration with relevant ESA technical experts. identifying the manpower needs to implement the ARTES CC SmallSat activities and coordinating with the line managers for the manpower allocation. coordinating the evaluation of ARTES CG Outline Proposals and provide support in the evaluation of Full Proposals targeting SmallSat applications. managing the provision of inputs to the ARTES CC status reports provided to the national delegations. contributing to the promotion of the ARTES CC programme and the ARTES socioeconomic impact analysis. performing selected duties of a Space Segment Engineer as requested by the Head of Section. Technical competencies Satellite telecommunications including nano, pico and microsatellite systems and constellations Space segment technology, equipment, subsystem design, development and series production techniques relevant to small satellite applications Work with industry and management of large contracts for space segment technology and product development Behavioural competencies Communication Relationship management Responsible decisionmaking Teamwork Problem solving Education Applicants for this post should have a masters degree or equivalent qualification in engineering. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset. The Agency may require applicants to undergo selection tests. Client and Location For one of our main customers ESAECSAT, we are currently looking for a Multidisciplinary Project Coordinator to support the ECSAT Site Manager onsite at ECSAT, Harwell, UK. Tasks and Responsibilities This position covers the provision of electrical, mechanical, civil and maintenance engineering support to the ECSAT Site Manager. It relates to management support of an outsourced performance based FM hard services contract covering the maintenance and operation of the ECSAT site, as well as support to small projects in the civil, mechanical and electrical domains. The post holder will be responsible for the following activities, but not limited to Supervision, review and quality control of the annual preventive maintenance plan as prepared and performed by the outsourced Maintenance Company operation on site Supervision and quality control of the preventive and corrective maintenance activities performed by contractor companies on site, and assessing the quality of the performed works against the agreed quality levels Provision of support for the project management related to the Facilities Management domain o Preparation of the technical description of the work to be performed o Launching the procurement process via tender or purchase in collaboration with the procurementcontract team in ESA o Support to the bid evaluation and negotiation o Technical, Financial and timeline monitoring of the implementation phase Active support to the investigation and analysis of technical failures, identification of corresponding technical solutions and participation to the quality control of the implemented remedial actions. Support to rollout of the ECSAT CIFM database and upkeep of the data Adhoc support to ECSAT Site Manager Experience and education Master Degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience At least 2 years of experience in building infrastructure and facility management Good knowledge of the applicable norms and legislation in the UK Sound analytical skills Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, team spirit, with a real capability and willingness to learn and work in an international environment. An excellent command of the English language is required, as well as good knowledge of MS Office software applications Excel, Word, Powerpoint, MS Project and Lotus Notes Ability to work with the CIFM based on Archibus software is considered an asset Experience of ESA tender rules and procedures is considered an asset

EUMETSAT is the European satellite agency for monitoring weather and climate. Bringing together the resources of 30 Member States, we develop and operate a range of satellite systems surveying the atmosphere, ocean and climate that delivers data 24 hours a day. Our data is vital to weather forecasts that protect lives and property, and to monitoring the changing climate. EUMETSAT is now developing the next generation of satellite systems, shaping its longterm future. We have an internalfacing role for a SAP System Administrator and Technical Coordinator, working within our ICT division, to provide a SAP system administration service and coordinate system maintenance activities ensuring the smooth running of all of our services. Working in an environment where hosting is outsourced, you would be required to work collaboratively with other SAP functional experts, ICT teams, external hosting developers and SAP Application developers to ensure our technical requirements become a reality. Your main responsibilities will include administering the SAP System environment during its life cycle and coordinating the activities of the contractor to ensure the service is delivered in line with service level agreements. Additionally you will plan and coordinate SAP system maintenance activities, including IT security, integration with EUMETSAT IT Systems and SAP Support, and Enhancement Pack implementation, briefing and managing all parties involved. You will provide technical support to SAP Functional specialists in the complete development life cycle, including incident management. Along with a university degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline you should have expert experience in SAP and be able to demonstrate the following experience and knowledge in SAP ERP System Administration, Business Intelligence BI and Portal Systems practical experience in planning and coordinating SAP system maintenance activities in an externallyhosted SAP environment technical skills in supporting SAP functionality implementations, Support and Enhancement Pack upgrades, and other related life cycle activities an ability to prioritise, plan, solve problems and consistently meet deadlines excellent communication skills and demonstrated capability to negotiate, resolve conflicts and work cooperatively within a team knowledge of incident and change management fundamentals and principles, preferably according to ITIL Standard for Service Management a basic knowledge of network technologies, operating systems and supporting datacenter infrastructure. Some exposure to SAP Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery activities, understanding and experience in SAP Security Implementations and implementation, and operational experience of SAP Solution Manager 7.2 would be seen as beneficial.
