Dutch consumer VoIP connections grow to 5.14 million in Q1 2

(Telecompaper) Dutch consumer VoIP connections grew by 0.8 percent during the first quarter of 2014, to reach a total 5.14 million at the end of March 2014. This is one of the outcomes of Telecompaper's quarterly Dutch Fixed Telephony Market report. The growth in VoIP connections did offset the 7.4 percent drop in PSTN/ISDN lines and 1.1 percent decrease in WLR connections, leading to a decrease of 0.4 percent of the whole fixed telephony market. During the quarter, a net loss of 24,000 lines was reported, to end March 2014 with 6.22 million connections.

Dutch consumer VoIP connections grow to 5.1 million in 2013

(Telecompaper) Dutch consumer VoIP connections grew by 1.1 percent during the fourth quarter of 2013 to reach a total 5.1 million on 31 December, according to Telecompaper's quarterly report about the Dutch fixed telephony market. The decrease of 6.8 percent in PSTN/ISDN lines and 2.5 percent in WLR lines was off-set by the quarterly growth of VoIP connections. This led to a 0.2 percent (12,000 lines) growth for the whole fixed telephony market, ending 2013 with 6.25 million lines.  Telecompaper expects the fixed telephony market to continue to grow with a CAGR of 1.3 percent per year until 2018.

Dutch consumer fixed lines grow to 6.25 mln in Q2

(Telecompaper) The Dutch consumer fixed telephony market grew by 18,000 connections or 0.3 percent during the second quarter to 6.25 million lines, according to Telecompaper's quarterly Dutch Fixed Telephony Market report. Growth in VoIP lines of 1.6 percent during the quarter was enough to offset a 5.8 percent drop in PSTN/ISDN connections and 0.7 percent fewer WLR connections. Fibre VoIP reported the highest growth of 9 percent, followed by cable at 1.4 percent, while DSL VoIP connections only increased by 0.2 percent during the quarter. The revenues generated from consumer fixed telephony lines decreased by 2.9 percent in the second quarter to EUR 338 million. The fixed telephony market is expected to continue to grow, at a CAGR of 1.2 percent per year over the period 2013-2017, as growth in VoIP lines continues to outpace the decrease in PSTN/ISDN and WLR users.

The report 'Dutch Mobile Consumer Q1-2013' gives detailed information on the demographics of Dutch mobile consumers, their preferred sales channels, reasons for selecting a provider, average spending, most-used services and use of additional bundles alongside the ongoing subscription. The report also gives insight per mobile service provider (Hi, KPN, Telfort, Vodafone, T-Mobile, Tele2 and Others). The Dutch Mobile Consumer Report is based on the responses of more than 20,000 respondents from our Telecompaper Consumer Panel during the period January to March 2013. Results are CBS stratified for gender, age (12-80) and education. Telecompaper has published the same data split by mobile handset brand: Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG, HTC, Apple, Blackberry and Others.
