Burlington man is seeking to overturn child sex-assault conviction
2015-02-02 14:02:20| Apparel - Topix.net
A former Burlington man, once described as "evil" by the father of one of his victims, is asking the state's highest court on Tuesday to overturn his 2010 conviction for sexually assaulting two neighborhood girls because the jury was allowed to hear allegations of another child sexual assault for which he was cleared. While the state Supreme Judicial Court is set to hear the Herbert Dorazio case on Tuesday, justices are seeking amicus briefs -- arguments from outside parties who have strong interest in the subject but are not involved in the case -- for opinions on where to draw the line between showing a pattern of bad behavior and allegations that will prejudice the jury against a defendant.
