Shell to take axe to spending, jobs after $US53b BG Group takeover

Oil giant Royal Dutch Shell has told shareholders the $US53 billion takeover of BG Group will act as a "springboard to change and reshape" the group, and outlined plans for job and spending cuts, as well as $US30 billion of asset sales that look certain to affect the business in Australia. In a prospectus issued overnight for the takeover, which is heading for completion early next year, Shell cut expected capital expenditure for the merged group by $US2 billion to about $US33 billion, down 30 per cent from 2014 levels.

Bhubaneswar, Dec. 16: The Regional Transport Office , Bhubaneswar-II, has decided to suspend trade certificates of as many as 36 automobile dealers within its jurisdiction for failing to set up vehicular emission test centre as directed by it. However, the Bhubaneswar-I branch of RTO, which has around 80 automobile dealers within its limits, has not issued any such direction.

Coca-Cola is to axe Glaceau fruitwater following disappointing sales and replace it in March 2016 with a 6% juice product called Minute Maid Sparkling, FoodNavigator-USA has learned. More details about the new product will be released in the coming months, said Coca-Cola, but for now the company is keeping its counsel both as to the formulation of Minute Maid Sparkling and the reasons why fruitwater did not resonate with consumers.
