Cummins nears finish of new Indiana warehouse

Engine maker Cummins Inc. expects to have construction finished by the end of this year on a new $15 million warehouse and distribution center in southern Indiana. The company plans to consolidate 80 employees from distribution sites in Seymour, Jonesville and Greenwood at the new center in an industrial park near Columbus.

Vectren sending some big bills in SW Indiana

Several thousand Vectren electricity customers in southwestern Indiana are facing big bills after the company underestimated what they owed over the summer. The Evansville-based company says mistakes in calculating estimated electricity use caused about 7,000 customers to be undercharged for two to four months.

A bronze statue of the famed World War II journalist on the Bloomington campus of Indiana University misspells the word "correspondent" by dropping an "r." University officials found the mistake Wednesday, two days before the sculpture is to be formally dedicated, the Herald-Times reported .

Indiana utilities predict drop in heating bills

Northern Indiana Public Service Co., Vectren and Citizens Energy Group all say that if winter temperatures are normal their customers could benefit from abundant natural gas supplies. The companies say that supply has kept gas prices down despite increase demand during last winter's often-brutally cold temperatures across the Midwest.
