Ground Segment System Monitoring Engineering Consultancy Support 1413038 Job Description In the role of support to the development of MTG ground segment, the tasks of the Key person shall include Analysis of the MTG requirements on the MultiMission Elements specifically to Monitoring, Analysis Reporting and contribute to the definition of the design specification for the MultiMission Elements Management of programmes Requirementsrequirement justification and generation of elements requirements Maintenance of GS Facilities to MME Monitoring ICDs Definition of the system architecture and interfaces between the MultiMission Elements specifically Monitoring, Analysis Reporting and the other elements of the MTG ground segment Performing engineering budgets and analyse impacts of changes in the MultiMission Elements on the MTG ground segment architecture and interfaces Contribution to the generation of System Design Documents and Interface Control Documents Support to the definition of the AIV approach for the MultiMission Elements, including the generation of Test Plan and Test Procedures Participation to Programme projects reviews PDR, CDR, etc... Support MultiMission Elements Upgrade for other future programmes Promoting and ensuring the implementation of the maintainability requirements and standards defined by OPS for the future programmes Required Skills and Experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. At least five years experience in the following areas Full development cycle of systems, from the definition of requirements to system design and testing Maintenance of operational ground systems, preferably for remote sensing spacecrafts System Engineering AIT experience for the development of major upgrades new ground systems in a 247 operational environment Ground Segment Monitoring and Control systems Analysis and Reporting System architectural design with the support of modelling and design tools e.g. Enterprise Architect Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS. In addition, for the accomplishment of the listed tasks, proven knowledge and experience in at least two of the following missions ground segment areas are mandatory Satellite Monitoring and Control Nearrealtime data processing Archive systems Nearreal time data dissemination. The Key person shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with a minimum of supervision. Due to the nature of the position, the Key person shall have good interpersonal skills and proactive attitude with strong ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment. Thorn SDS are seeking a candidate to provide Ground Segment System Monitoring Engineering Consultancy Support within the Technical Scientific Support department. Working within the System Engineering and Projects Division, as a member of the systems upgrades team, the key candidate will be primarily covering the system engineering aspects of the design and development activities for the Meteosat Third Generation MTG Ground Segment, with emphasis on the evolutions of the MultiMission Elements for MTG. Thorn SDS is an AUG registered business with a local bilingual English German support team in Darmstadt. We specialise in the supply of staff and services into the space and security sectors and are particularly interested in speaking to existing contractors at EUMETSAT that may be searching for a cost effective employment partner. The successful candidate will contribute to the analysis of requirements for the design and test of the MultiMission Elements for MTG and their integration with the other MTG ground segment elements.
