Document and Configuration Management Engineer

We are currently looking for a Document and Configuration Management Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Document and Configuration Management DM CM Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As support to the Copernicus Programme and Service Management Office, you will have, among others, the following responsibilities Implement the applicable DM and CM plans, processes and working practices. Regularly review and propose improvements on those documents Deliver support to a wide range of users and training sessions on applicable DM and CM procedures Ensure that all incoming and outgoing Copernicus documentation is managed according to applicable EUMETSAT working practices Support the identification of the configuration items software, hardware and documents to be managed during Copernicus operations and buildup operations activities Support the administration of the Anomaly and Change Control Boards Liaise, coordinate and organise with external partners joint configuration boards Ensure that any new item version is deployed only after the formal review and approval of the related change Support the monitoring and control of hardware and software installation activities. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent Extensive proven work experience in the specific field of DM and CM, including build, deployment and installation activities on large softwareintensive highavailability operational systems DM and CM standards e.g. CMMI, ISO or ECSS DM tools as basic administration or advanced user e.g. Oracle UCM CM tools as basic administration or advanced user e.g. Serena Dimensions or Clearcase Use of SQL queries Systemsoftware development processes and methodologies Practical experience with scripting languages e.g. vb.net, source code control tools CVS, Subversion , software development environments on UNIX Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Contribute to the advertisement and continuous improvements of applicable EUMETSAT CM processes, procedures, guidelines. Document and perform validation testing on new Generic Dimensions Framework the EUMETSAT corporate CM tool releases. Contribute to the provision of S.M.A.R.T. requirements for CM Tool enhancements Attend the regular coordination PRS CM meetings, report on the progress of assigned actions, raise issues requiring management attention, and exchange with other PRS CM members on respective experiences and best solutions to address common issues SKILLS University degree in computer science or engineering Demonstrated experience of at least 5 years in conducting and implementing Configuration Management of large scale, softwarecentred systems in an operational environment, preferably for highavailability 24hday systems like e.g. processingproduction chains, data centres or satellite systems Experience in Quality Assurance, space system project control andor process modelling of largescale systems with a very good understanding of project development life cycle methodologies would be considered, providing that adequate knowledge and involvement in Configuration Management activities is also demonstrated.
