Telecom secures Modi govt's single largest FDI

Set to be the single largest foreign direct investment ever since the Narendra Modi-led government got to power at the Centre, the American Tower Corp is expected to announce its acquisition of domestic telecom infrastructure company Viom Networks in a deal worth Rs 20000 crore . The largest independent tower company in India, Viom, has nearly 42,000 towers, and another 1,000 towers that are under construction.

Vodafone Group, the world's second- largest wireless carrier, said 28 countries from New Zealand to the U.K. requested access to its network over a year, highlighting the scope of authorities' monitoring operations. Newbury, England-based Vodafone said its second annual law enforcement disclosure report covers a period from 1 April 2014 to 31 March 2015 and is the most comprehensive of its kind worldwide.
