(Telecompaper) China Mobile saw its first-quarter revenues grow 3.9 percent year-on-year to CNY 160.8 billion, and EBITDA rose 2.8 percent to CNY 59.1 billion. EBITDA margin declined to 36.8 percent from 37.2 a year ago. Net profit dropped 5.6 percent to CNY 23.8 billion.

IBM forges mobile app partnership with China Telecom

International Business Machines has struck a deal with China Telecom Corp Ltd to offer and manage corporate-grade mobile apps, the latest in a string of tie-ups with Chinese firms. Under the agreement, state-owned China Telecom will host on its servers IBM's MobileFirst service, which helps corporations manage apps for Apple Inc's iPhone and iPad devices.

China Mobile profit declines 10.2% in 2014

(Telecompaper) China Mobile saw its operating revenue grow by 1.8 percent year-on-year to CNY 641.4 billion in 2014. Revenue from telecommunications services declined by 1.5 percent to CNY 581.8 billion in 2014. Data business revenue reached CNY 253.1 billion, up by 22.3 percent compared to the previous year and as a percentage of revenue from telecommunications services increased to 43.5 percent.
