Kraft Heinz Foods is recalling more than 2 million pounds of turkey bacon products because they may spoil before the date marked on the package, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service said. The recalled Oscar Mayer turkey bacon was produced between May 31 and Aug. 6. It includes 56-ounce packages of Selects Uncured Turkey Bacon and 36-ounce packages of Smoked Cured Turkey Chopped and Formed.

On Sunday morning, hundreds of thousands of tons of toxic gas were accidentally released from the Shell Oil facility in Deer Park. According to reports from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality , 326,166 pounds of butadiene escaped through an open valve on a spherical tank between 10:40 am and 11:35 am.

This donation is part of Smithfield's Helping Hungry Homes tour, the company's coast-to-coast effort to help families and individuals become more food secure. read more
