Spotify beats outlook again for subscriber growth, Q4 revenues grow 24%

(Telecompaper) Spotify reported 271 million monthly active users at the end of 2019, up 31 percent over the year and better than the group's forecast. With MAU growth accelerating the past three quarters and strong take-up of its expanding podcast offer, the company said it's confident in its future growth prospects. However, it will continue to invest in 2020 and forecast a bigger operating loss for the year.

Netflix beats Q4 subscriber growth target, despite slowdown in US

(Telecompaper) Netflix grew its streaming subscriber base by 20 percent year-on-year to 167.09 million at the end of 2019. Quarterly growth totaled 8.8 million new customers in the last quarter of 2019, led by expansion at the international operations. Growth in the US of 420,000 was slower than forecast, amid competition from new streaming services from Apple and Disney launching during the period.

Netflix lifts Q3 content investments by 18%, subscriber numbers 22% and revenue 31%

(Telecompaper) Netflix said revenues for the third quarter lifted 31 percent year-on-year to USD 5.24 billion. The company added 517,000 paying customers in the US and 6.255 million international clients in the quarter. The US additions came in below management expectations of 800,000. The board attributed this to a slightly higher than normal churn after the price increase of last year. The second figure was slightly better than the expected 6.20 million.

Melita has further strengthened its position as Maltas leading provider of TV services, with subscriber numbers now surpassing 100,000, equivalent to a circa 60% market share. All Melita TV customers now have HD set-top boxes.

India Q2 2019 pay DTH average active subscriber base at 54.26 million

According to figures submitted to TRAI, Pay DTH had an average active subscriber base of around 54.26 million in the quarter ended 30th June, 2019. This is in addition to the subscribers of DTH Free Dish (free DTH services of Doordarshan).
