Did you catch our story this weekend about the number of people in Ohio who live within a half mile of railroad tracks where Bakken crude oil rolls through each week? Bakken crude is the stuff that has caused giant fires, explosions and home evacuations in West Virginia, Virginia and Quebec We thought it was a good idea to see how many Ohioans live within that half-mile buffer, which is the likely evacuation area should a Bakken train derail. Some things that are important to note: Trains carrying million of gallons of Bakken crude roll through Ohio every week, and the overwhelming majority of them pass safely.

At the farm she grew up on, produce was harvested and later sold at a fruit stand on the side of U.S. 1. "That's where we got a lot of work ethic," said Martha Graham, who has served as St. Augustine's public works director since 2008. While the farm life developed her work ethic, it was an interest in technical issues and problem solving that drew Graham into engineering and public works.
