A material disposal process will begin at the Hattiesburg Hercules plant on July 13.

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality said a blending process is scheduled to begin in the impoundment basin, which is under a large white structure, to "stabilize the materials left from Hercules" before they are sent to a landfill. Robbie Wilbur, MDEQ's Communications Director, said the materials would be sampled before they are disposed to make sure they meet all requirements for disposal.
