A Carrier Module Systems Engineer is required with several years of engineering experience in the field of spacecraft structures and subsystems used to transport payloads on interplanetary trajectories. The Key Person shall be responsible for system engineering tasks related to the monitoring and operation of the carrier module in cruise phase of the mission. In this area of work, the tasks will typically include Requirements and function definition Interface specification and control Design trades and documentation Resource, margin and risk management Verification and validation In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, the Consultant should have as a prerequisite Several years of professional experience in mission oriented spacecraft engineering Understanding of interplanetary missions specifically in cruise and preEDL phases Applied systems engineering knowledge in one or more of the following fields propulsion, mechanical, thermal, power, telecommunications and avionics Target avoidance trajectory manoeuvres Excellent conceptual and analytical skills Working knowledge and experience in the following areas would be considered an advantage Handson experience in space system integration and testing Knowledge of the design and development lifecycle of science missions and payloads Working in an international framework The Key Person shall have good communications skills, to allow the effective communication of information under a variety of circumstances. Heshe should be used to working proactively within a small team, being able to work with the minimum of supervision.
