AlwaysOn to launch Wi-Fi voice in South Africa

(Telecompaper) Public Wi-Fi provider AlwaysOn is set to launch a new Wi-Fi voice calling service in South Africa, which will compete against Vodacom South Africa, MTN South Africa, Cell C, and Telkom. AlwaysOn provides secure Wi-Fi Internet through 2,200 hotspots in South Africa and offers roaming capabilities in over 110 countries at more than one million hotspots, BusinessDay reported.

Computex 2015: ASRock shows off Skylake motherboards and a WiFi router

ASRock's presence at Computex this year is interesting, to say the least. The company hasn't made much noise about supporting Intel's fifth-gen Broadwell processors, but they are looking more to the future, with reveals of their final designs for their Intel Skylake Z170 chipset motherboards and a gaming router that might give ASUS's hardware a run for their money.

Microsoft to launch Microsoft WiFi

(Telecompaper) Microsoft said it is working on a new Wi-Fi service, Microsoft WiFi, to replace Skype Wi-Fi. Microsoft said the service will provide access to 10 million hotspots worldwide. Skype Wi-Fi gives access to 2 million hotspots. Microsoft made the announcement via microsoftwifi.com. The site said that the new service will be available for Skype Wi-Fi users and users of Microsoft Office 365 for Enterprise. Some users have also received a special Wi-Fi offering from Microsoft. No financial details were disclosed. The service will be available via Windows (Phone), Mac, Android en iOS.

Microsoft WiFi could be another reason to get Office 365

Although Microsoft already offers millions of WiFi access points around the world through Skype , it appears the company has bigger plans for its wireless internet service. If a new website is to be believed, the Skype branding could be dropped in favor of a new platform called Microsoft WiFi.
