Randstad Italia spa is looking for a Space Environment Engineer for a leading client company in the aerospace sector based in Rome. Activity field The role provides analysis and assessment of impacts of Space environment, both external and selfgenerated, on Satellite design. Analysis and assessment of impacts due to satellite reentry on the Earth at the end of operational lifetime. Academic professional preparation Masters Degree in Pure and Applied Mathematics or Masters degree in Physics and II level Master in Space Science and Technology. Knowledge of software for numerical computation and dynamic simulation eg. Matlab, Simulink, etc.. Knowledge of programming languages eg. C, Python, Java, etc... Activity description Satellite system engineering activity aimed to evaluate the effects of space environment to specify the requirements for design of satellite, and to specify requirement for satellite appendages e.g. solar array, antennas, etc.. The considered space environment is both the natural environment radiation, micrometeorids, orbital debris and the environment selfgenerated by satellite itself as the plume impingement due to chemical and electrical propulsion. In this context is part of the activity the development and finalization of in house software tool for evaluation of plume impingement effects both for chemical and electrical propulsion, and their validation through comparison of results with benchmark. Additional system engineering activity is the evaluation of the impacts generated by uncontrolled reentry in the Earth atmosphere of satellite at the end of its operational lifetime, with implementation of best practices for use of available simulation tools. This activity is finalized to obtain a mitigation of debris in orbit, through the driving of satellite design tradeoff to a debris mitigation policy.
