Position Reference 714 We are currently looking for several Ground Segment Engineer to work in the beautiful city of Toulouse to follow and support the ground segment level engineering and evolution activities. Galileo is Europes Global Navigation Satellite System GNSS, providing improved positioning and timing information with significant positive implications for many European services and users. The objective of this role is to support the ground segment engineering activities. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Review of the technical documentation and ensure consistency with system level documentation. Interface with industrial andor institutional player and service operator for aspects related to operability improvements to be injected in future industrial contract amendments. Participate to the ground segment evolutions development reviews and CCB relevant to the tasks under herhis responsibility. Review of the technical documentation generated by technical assistance SETA team. Support the qualificationacceptance reviews of new releases of the Ground Segment up to services rollout. Contribute to the analysis of anomalies raised by the service operator and participate to the relevant anomaly review boards. Support the preparation of requirements, launch, and management of the procurements for the ground infrastructure. Support the assessment of the performance of the ground infrastructure industrial contractors, through the review of the relevant KPIs and deliverables, and propose actions and improvements to address issues and opportunities. Prepare and support the development and deployment of ground infrastructure related to additional EU space programme components. Support requirements engineering performed at system level. Support maintenance of system architecture diagrams managed at system level. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory Masters Degree in Aerospace, Engineering or a relevant technical domain A minimum of 5 years of experience working in satellite ground segment engineering with demonstrated experience in Galileo. Experience in operations andor deployment of a complex system. Excellent command of both written and spoken English. Organised, dynamic and proactive. Security clearance EU Secret will be necessary, therefore only nationals of the EU countries will be considered for this role. Ability to travel on missions when needed to other locations. Inside of the SPO Secondment we offer the following career option Galileo Ground Segment Engineer mfd Reference No. 210111 Your Mission The Spaceopal SPO Ground Segment Engineer is a member of the SPO Evolutions Team reporting to the SPO Evolutions Manager in SPOs Galileo Service Operator GSOp frame of activities. The role requires liaising effectively across all SPO teams and with other GSOp teams, Design Authority teams ESA and Industry and Customer representatives GSA. The main responsibility is to assure harmonized and coordinated Ground Segment Engineering processes and activities spanning over all Galileo ground infrastructure, sites and teams. Processes and activities to be managed and overseen are primarily, but not limited to, the following Managing the operations preparation and operational validation of new infrastructure deployments and related operational scenarios and products ensuring these can be declared fit for providing services Promoting and followingup engineering specifications and developments for ground infrastructure and service evolutions as originated directly from SPO or from GSOp partners Coordinating GSOp teams support and synergies during SystemService verification qualification campaigns as led by the Design Authority andor final Customer. The above shall be ensured for the entire Ground Segment, but with specific focus on both the UNCLA and CLA Galileo Control Services domains. Your responsabilities Oversee key ground infrastructure issues and configuration changes, promoting the related information transfer and awareness across all GSOp teams, up to the followon fix or change validation and related implementation into service. In the context of a Galileo Ground Infrastructure Release cycle, mainly pertaining to the UNCLA and CLA control services domains Coordinate the GSOp support to ground HWSW infrastructure SegmentElement Design, Development and Verification and Qualification milestone reviews and campaigns prior to and as these reach deployment to Galileo sites Contribute to operational products development and validation planning for System and Service operations spanning across more sites and entities Monitor and steer the development and operational readiness of procedures and processes Act as lead technical interface towards the Customer and other stakeholders in the preparation and chairing of the related GSOp milestone reviews Manage the development and maintenance of the associated SPO deliverables Account on the readiness for service provision of the infrastructure releases In the context of SystemService Evolutions, manage the engineering specifications, monitor the followon development, lead the formal iterations with Customer and Design Authority for detailed Service Improvement Proposals by SPO or other GSOp partners operational and service teams, primarily in the UNCLA and CLA control services domains Monitor closely and coordinate planning and support to System and Segment onsite IV campaigns UNCLA and CLA ensuring adequate monitoring and contribution by GSOp teams to the related outcomes for the benefit of Service provision Coordinate closely within the SPO Evolution team and with other SPO teams e.g. Services, ILS, Security while liaising in strict cooperation also with other GSOp partners as required Develop technical notes, plans and other documentation as required plus regular reports on status of activities Occasionally contribute, as and when required to SPO technical proposal preparation processes liaising with SPO legal and contracts to the execution of other ongoing SPO contracts beyond the scope of GSOp Your Qualification Hold a degree in TelecommunicationsElectronicsInformatics Engineering or Physics with at least 5 years of work experience. Position Reference 735 We are currently looking for an EGNOS User Segment Engineer to work in the city of Prague, Czech Republic. HeShe will support standardisation activities in the field other market segments than aviation maritime, rail, road, etc.. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Support the standardisation of SBAS services and SBAS receivers for other uses than aviation Contribute to write the service provision concepts with the user community, defining typical operational goals for the service, then determine and validate user segments requirements e.g. Receivers minimum operational performance specifications, or similar. Contribute to the service engineering for other market segments than aviation maritime, rail, road, etc., notably by defining activities required to standardise the service, the system andor user receivers e.g. testbed, test user receiver, pilot project. Support the EGNOS Standardisation Engineer in the standardisation of SBAS receivers within the standardisation fora of the different user communities, organising and managing the production of the deliverables and contributing to their edition. Support the EGNOS Standardisation Engineer in liaising with the stakeholders which contribute to standardisation of EGNOS Services, notably by preparing publications, presentations and writing minutes of meetings. Support the supervision of activities outsourced by the Service Engineering team for DFMC User Segment projects Contribute to writing technical specifications of GSA prototyping projects for maritime, rail, road and other market segment if need be. Provide technical expertise for project reviews of receiver prototypes. Contribute to preparing Technical Specifications for GSAs standardisation activities Procurement and Grants. Contribute to other tasks of the EGNOS Service Engineering team, as necessary. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory Masters Degree in the relevant discipline, with at t least 5 years of relevant professional experience. Experience in developing user segment equipment, either in navigation or telecommunications. Ability to write clear, precise and concise documents in fluent English Experience in supervising outsourced activities in an international environment. The following skills would be highly desirable Experience in defining technical requirements from potential users for future services within a regulated environment. Experience in developing GNSS receivers up to commercialisation. Experience leading a standardisation group of technical experts in an international forum. Experience in developing user segment equipment for transport safety maritime, road, rail or aviation.
