Australia's sharemarket has extended its recent falls, with banks once again leading the plunge as overseas investors dump their holdings. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index finished sharply lower, falling 49.2 points, or 0.9 per cent, to a fresh seven-month low of 5264.2 points.

Woolworths' ALH Group in $600 million pubs selloff

Charter Hall Group, a diversified real estate invest trust, has created a new wholesale partnership with HOST PLUS to acquire a $603 million portfolio of properties from the Woolworths-owned ALH Group . The portfolio comprises 54 pubs, of which 46 also include a Dan Murphy's and/or BWS retail tenancy, which are predominately located across Australian metropolitan areas.
