Hyundai Motor America joined forces with the National Bar Association Board of Governors and the law firm of Ivie, McNeil and Wyatt to honor legendary civil rights attorney Fred Gray at a special reception on Saturday, July 18, 2015. Held at the law offices of Ivie, McNeil and Wyatt, Hyundai executives, National Bar Association Board members, and high profile politicos including Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas and Los Angeles City Council President Herb Wesson, gathered to celebrate Gray, one of the nation's most prominent civil rights leaders.

FAA proposes $55,000 civil penalty against MayaAir, LLC of Telluride, CO, for allegedly conducting commercial operations with an unauthorized aircraft. FAA alleges that between July 28 and August 3, 2014, MayaAir flew a Beechjet 400A on 5 flights when its operating specifications did not authorize use of that aircraft for commercial operations. FAA alleges that paying passengers were aboard each of the flights, which took place in Colorado, Ohio, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

FAA proposes $420,000 civil penalty against Avion Research Inc. of Cupertino, CA, for allegedly producing and advertising articles that weren’t authorized for installation on certificated aircraft. FAA alleges that Avion manufactured 63 glare shields that did not comply with federal aviation regulations for producing replacement or modification articles for FAA type-certificated aircraft. FAA further alleges Avion knew shields were reasonably likely to be installed on type-certificated aircraft.

FAA proposes a $173,100 civil penalty against Eaton Corporation Aerospace Operations of Irvine, CA, for allegedly violating drug and alcohol testing regulations. FAA alleges that Eaton, which operates aircraft repair stations, failed to include 6 employees who performed safety-sensitive work in random drug and alcohol testing pools. FAA also alleges Eaton failed to conduct pre-employment drug tests before transferring 2 employees into safety-sensitive positions.
