AIA released poll, conducted by Christian Science Monitor, at Paris Air Show indicating 54% of public respondents favor increased non-military use of unmanned aircraft systems. Results also indicate public opinion that governments should resolve perceived privacy issues, airspace regulations, and other challenges. In poll, 25% of public is aware of non-military uses such as law enforcement, search and rescue, flood monitoring, wildlife conservation, and fighting wildfires.
