Bouygues launches VoLTE pilot service
2015-11-25 11:57:00| Telecompaper Headlines
(Telecompaper) French operator Bouygues Telecom has announced the launch a VoLTE pilot service with 5,000 customers, including 700 enterprise clients. Participants are owners of VoLTE-enabled Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones. The VoLTE service will be made available to all customers with compatible phones in 2016. The operators said that VoLTE allows customers to make calls over the 4G network, offering optimised voice quality and allowing customers to send, share and download content during the call. In May 2014, Bouygues awarded a contract to Ericsson to upgrade its network for VoLTE. The company is the first in France to offer the 4G voice services.
