Ceramabond™ 571 consists of water-based, 2-part (powder and liquid), magnesium oxide-filled ceramic adhesive and coating used to bond thermocouples to molybdenum-rhenium heater tubes for applications to 3,200°F. While electrical properties include volume resistivity of 109 ohm-cm and dielectric strength of 255 V/mil, mechanical properties include tensile shear strength of 500 psi and torque strength of 21.6 lb-ft. Product sets at room temperature and cures in 1–2 hr at 200°F.
