Position Reference 672 We are currently looking for an Engineering Coordination for the CubeSat Summer School ESA Academy to work for our client, the European Space Agency ESA, in the city of Redu, Belgium. Please note that this is a fixedterm contract. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Definition of the Summer School concept in terms of objectives, format, content, duration, schedule, profile of the participants. Identification of and coordination with the different trainers liaison with them. Consolidation of the schedule and content. Development of the lectures, workshops, group exercises, lab sessions, etc. Definition of an evaluation process. Coordination and monitoring of the training material preparation. Review and improvement of the proposed training material. Preparation of the necessary equipment e.g. satellite models, tools, demonstration material and exercises. Preparation of the laboratory, test equipment and Mission Control aCentre with support of specialists. Call for applications and selection process of the participants. Organisation and delivery of the Summer School. Evaluation of the pilot edition. Analysis of trainers and students feedback. Implementation of the improvements in terms of content, format, duration, schedule, participants profile, etc. Use and maintenance of the training material database. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree at least at MSc level in Aerospace Engineering, Space Systems Engineering or equivalent, with minmum 4 years of relevant working experience. Good organizational skills, spirit of initiative, experience in the management of projects. Ability to effectively coordinate work contributions from several different parties, and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders ESA, the involved international partners, industry, academia and students. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Support the development of new training sessions in different engineering fields. Liaise with the trainers and monitoring of training material preparation. Support the definition of training objectives, structure, requirements and sequence. Support the definition of training format, participants profile and delivery method. Review proposed lectures, workshops and exercises. Support the development of elearning training content and online training sessions. Support the preparation and the publication of the call for applications, the review and the evaluation of the applications, and the student selection process. Liaise with the partners andor with the organisations which are involved in the conduct of the training sessions ESA sections, universities, space agencies, industries or associations. Support the delivery of the training sessions, attending most of the lectures and providing constructive feedback for future editions. Implement the improvements in terms of content, format, duration, schedule, participants profile, etc. Maintain the training material database. As needed, support the development and maintenance of an elearning platform. Contribute to educational opportunities and initiatives offered by the ESA Education Office. ESA Academy training sessions last 45 days and cover different fields of ESA expertise with the objective to complement what university students are learning at university and to better prepare them for a spacerelated career. Qualifications Applicants for this post should have a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent qualification in engineering. Candidates are expected to demonstrate strong interest in education activities in the field of science and technology in general. Previous experience in teaching or in educational projects would be an asset. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate good organisational and reporting skills as well as a proactive attitude to problemsolving. They should be capable of coordinating multiple projects and provide engineering support. They must demonstrate an ability to communicate and cooperate efficiently, to establish and maintain good working relationships with a wide range of ESA staff at different levels as well as with representatives of academia, industry and ESAs international partners. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required together with a working knowledge of the other.
