Quality Assurance Manager ISO

Do you live and breathe Quality Management and ISO Management System standards? As the Quality Assurance Manager you will support the Head of Programme Assurance UK in all aspects of bid and project assurance with the objective of minimising Intelligence UK programme risks and maintaining current ISO management system certifications ISO9001 and ISO27001. You will be involved in Awareness campaigns and championing Quality to the wider company. You will be joining a small team that is part of a transnational department of 3040. This role requires travel through Europe a few times a year. The successful candidate will need to be eligible to gain UK SC Security Clearance to undertake the role. Attending meetings and reporting with regards to Intelligence UK within the Airbus Defence and Space Supporting bids, projects and risk reporting on all matters of quality assurance Policy and process review, development and implementation Supporting and championing quality awareness programmes Implementing the Quality Assurance tools and methodologies as appropriate in bidsprojects e.g. APQP, RCA, PPS, Q6, Quality incident coordination and investigation Internal auditing and facilitation of external quality audits Develop and promote a strong positive relationship with Customers, Suppliers, Sales, Project Managers and Bid Managers. Ensure quality incidents and customer complaints are managed, reported, investigated and assessed for route cause and impact, and corrective and preventative actions are taken and recorded. This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Companys success, reputation and sustainable growth. An understanding of ISO management system specifications A confident and articulate communicator able to positively coordinate effectively at many levels To work effectively within complex project teams multisite and transnational Relevant experience of management systems and associated ISO management system standards ISO9001 Relevant audit experience internal auditing and external audit facilitation required. Archangel Lightworks is a startup specialised in space laser communications based in Harwell Space Campus, Oxfordshire. Founded in mid2017, we have secured longterm funding and successfully demonstrated several novel prototypes related to laser transmission and efficient perpendicular solar concentration. Our mission is to make 10x more data download possible to meet the demand from the growing satellites market, especially smallsats, delivering more data from the earth orbit to the ground at higher speed. Role responsibilities We are looking for an innovative, reliable and experienced 25 years Aerospace Product Assurance Quality Assurance PAQA Manager to ensure high output quality aiming to the longterm success of our business and augment our rapidly growing team. Generally speaking your presence should help us delivering great, reliable products services that may even set new industry standards! The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a PA process within our startup, improving industrial processes, product qualitycompliance, and maintaining efficiency. Your duties will include inspecting procedures and outputs, and identifying mistakes or nonconformity issues, and organizing the verification of product. You should have solid experience in quality control together with great attention to details, and be able to make professional conclusions about the quality of products and services. Examples of job responsibilities include but not limited to Develop methods for inspection, testing, sampling and training. Review design documentation for compliance with contract requirements. Review and analyse procedures and report qualityrelated issues Ensure quality related deliverables meet the quality assurance program and customer requirements. Verify the reliability and consistency by checking processes and final output. Manage records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation. Maintenance of project configuration items lists. Collect and analyse quality data Initiate nonconformance, corrective actions and perform root cause analysis. Proactive solutions suggestion. Supervise all operations that affect quality. Enforce the compliance with all legal standards. Oversee the usage of standards and policies Support and guide inspectors, technicians and other staff. Interact with external quality assurance officers during onsite inspections Interested applicants may also consider starting first as a fixedterm consultant while rolling into a permanent role although this is less preferred. REQUIREMENTS Required skillsexperience Knowledge of ECSS standards in PAQA, testing and verification. Product assurance experience in the space industry, ideally for cubesatsnanosatellites. Demonstrated ability to diagnose, report, track and resolve quality related issues. Substantial work experience of a scientific, engineering or technical nature involving data analysis and statistical methods. Proficient with MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel. Educated to degree level or equivalent in STEM subject or equivalent. Strong numerical skills, with great attention to detail and a results. Proficient English, positive attitude, selfdriven and interested in working in a startup environment Independent, quick learner, can structure and show initiatives to thoroughly evaluate and solve problems from different angles, proactively push progress forward Desirable additional skillsexperience Practical experience working in PAQA within the space industry, ideally on Cubesats. Experience of product assurance on space projects working to ECSS requirements. Chartered status awarded by an engineering, quality assurance or scientific organisation. Knowledge of inspection requirements and techniques for electronic and optical assemblies. Knowledge of ESA forbidden materialscomponents. Knowledge of laser safety and cleanliness for space systems. Experience working on Cubesat projects, UAV, HAPS projects. Using their long heritage in the space industry, they are developing the nextgeneration European launchers and manned space vehicles. They have several offices in Germany and France, those in Germany are located in Bremen and Munich. Currently they are heavily involved in the development of Europes most advanced launcher and looking for a Supply Quality Manager for both the Ariane 5 and Ariane 6 programmes. Tasks and Responsibilities The job holder is responsible for the improvement of products and processes of Arianne 5 and 6 as well as for the care of the suppliers concerning quality standards. The main tasks are broken down as follows Planning, coordination and review of quality assurance measures for products, services and processes with suppliers Evaluation and approval of suppliers with regard to quality aspects Monitoring of delivery quality and removal of causes of quality deviations Root cause analyses and control of measures at the supplier Collaboration in planning, implementation and evaluation of quality audits and assessments at the suppliers Monitoring compliance with ArianeGroup quality standards through collaboration in multifunctional teams Collaboration in the design of processes and reporting. Requirements A degree in Mechanical engineering or Aerospace Engineering At least 3 years of work experience in a Quality Engineering role in the aerospace industry At least 2 years of experience in Supply ChainSupply Quality Management in the aerospace industry Strong knowledge of SAPR3, MSExcel and MSPowerpoint The ability to meet objectives on schedule and to achieve and coordinate workflows efficiently Strong communication skills to work with different counterparts at all corporate levels Assertive and persuasive personality Fluency in English.
