FTC Revises Guide on Red Flags Identity Theft Rules

The Federal Trade Commission has issued revised guidance designed to help businesses such as auto dealerships comply with requirements of the Red Flag Rule, which protects consumers by requiring businesses to watch for and respond to warning signs or red flags of identity theft. The Rule requires that you train relevant staff only as necessary. Staff who have taken fraud prevention training may not need to be re-trained. Remember that employees at many levels of your organization can play a key role in identity theft deterrence and detection.
